I think I’ll make time for a matinee this week, and then watch the world through a moving window. This summer I deemed “the summer of the miniskirt”, and have worn nothing but for nearly 3 months. It has been liberating and joyful and youthful. Viva la summer; alas, it is waning all too quickly……

I was caught off guard by Murakami as well. I read a review of ‘Kafka on the Shore’ and the person was falling all over themselves, talking about how the book had changed their lives. I’m not cynical or anything…but I had some reservations. Then I picked it up & have been drawn to his writing ever since.

I think the impact he had on people with that book was similiar to the impact ‘Lost in Translation’ had when it came out.

I’ve been lurking on this site for a while now, but this list and the accompanying photos have compelled me to comment. I really loved reading it. I can’t help but feel like I know you and that we would be great friends.
Also, the light quality in your photos is spectacular.
